If you’re looking for NowCreate, it’s gone
ServiceNow retired NowCreate around December 2025 with no big announcement or countdowns. One day the links just started redirecting somewhere else, and if you had bookmarks saved (like most of us did), they all pointed to a different place.
NowCreate was the go-to for implementation assets. Success packs, process guides, catalog templates, KPI documents. If you were setting up ITSM, CSM, or pretty much any product, you probably had a NowCreate bookmark somewhere.
Everything now redirects to the Best Practices portal, but there’s also a design portal most people don’t even know about. So let me break it down for you.
Best Practices: the NowCreate replacement
ServiceNow moved everything to the Best Practices portal at mynow.servicenow.com/now/best-practices. That’s where your success packs, implementation guides, and process templates live now.
A few things to know about it:
Old NowCreate URLs redirect automatically, so your bookmarks should still work
Content from the last two release families made it over
Older assets? Some didn’t survive the move
There’s a “Give Feedback” button if you can’t find something specific, which tells you ServiceNow knows there are gaps
Honestly, the portal itself is fine. Better search, cleaner organization by methodology. But the transition wasn’t exactly smooth for everyone. Some documents like “ITSM - Business Outcomes and Corresponding KPIs” and catalog item templates (the blank RITM worksheet, the request template) just disappeared.
Horizon: the portal nobody talks about
Horizon has been around for a while, but I rarely see people in the community referencing it. It’s ServiceNow’s design system, sitting at horizon.servicenow.com, and it’s where all the UI/UX guidelines live.
If you build anything with a user interface on ServiceNow (portals, workspaces, mobile apps), this is where you should be looking. It covers:
Design guidelines for accessibility, content design, dark mode, high contrast
Component libraries for Workspace, Service Portal, Core UI, and Native Mobile
Figma libraries with ready-to-use components and templates
Pattern documentation for things like unified navigation
If you’ve ever argued with a client about how a workspace component should look or behave, Horizon is your backup. It’s the official answer to “what does ServiceNow recommend here?”
So where do you go for what?
Here’s the simple breakdown:
Implementation guidance (success packs, process guides, scoping): Best Practices portal
UI/UX design (components, Figma libraries, accessibility, patterns): Horizon

The NowCreate archive
Community member Alessandro Almeida (Giga Guru on the SN community) saw the retirement coming and downloaded nearly 1,100 assets from NowCreate before the switch. He made them all available publicly.
If you’re looking for something that used to be on NowCreate and can’t find it on Best Practices, check his archive. He shared the link on LinkedIn along with details on what was preserved and what ServiceNow discontinued.
By the way, zero replies on his community post about this. 654 views though. The community noticed, even if nobody said thanks.
